Fil-Am Treat Huey, Indonesian partner advance to second round of Australian Open doubles

Filipino-American tennis player Treat Huey and his Indonesian partner Christopher Rungkat opened their Australian Open men's doubles campaign on a winning note.

On Wednesday, the wildcard duo defeated the tandem of India's Rohan Bopanna and France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin, 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-2, in the first round of the tournament in Melbourne.

They will advance to the second round of the tournament as they wait for the winners of the match between the tandem of Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev and Franko Skugor, and Australian duo Dane Sweeny and Li Tu.

Huey last played in a Grand Slam back in the 2018 Australian Open, where he made a first round exit in the men's doubles.
