Omega Empress, Bren Victress split games in MLBB Women's Invitational opener

Philippine teams Omega Empress and Bren Victress split their results in the opening day of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational 2022 on Thursday.

Empress, the women's counterpart of MPL team Omega Esports, bowed to IDNS Princess of Laos in the group stage despite a 20-11 kill spread behind Rica Fatima "Amore" Amores' 3-16-1 KDA.

But Omega made up for that defeat with a victory over Impunity Starlets of Cambodia. Amore also led that win, churning out five kills and the same number of assists against one death.

Omega now sits in the fourth spot in Group A with a 1-1 card. GPX Basreng is at top spot while IDNS and Karra are tied with the Filipinas. Impunity is in the cellar with a 0-2 slate.

Meanwhile in Group B, Bren Victress mauled On Air Pipol of Malaysia with Alexandria "Lexaaa" Dardo leading the way with a 5-0-10 KDA for their impressive 18-1 kill spread.

However, they could not duplicate the feat after losing to Indonesia's Bigetron Era.

Bren now holds a 1-1 card in Group B, good for a second spot with the Indonesian club claiming the top seat.

Group phase continues on Friday. The top four teams in each group will advance to the playoff round slated from January 29 to 30.
