Khabib Nurmagomedov says he could finish Jake Paul in 'a couple of minutes' in an MMA bout

Retired former UFC lightweight world champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said that Youtuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul would not stand a chance against him in a mixed martial arts fight.

Nurmagomedov called it quits in 2020 after a successful title defense against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 where he won by submission in round two. He retired with a perfect record of 29-0.

“With me? Come on, Jake Paul? I don't think so. In MMA? [I beat him in] like a couple of minutes. What do you think, he can fight with me?” Nurmagomedov said on the Full Send Podcast.

“He is a little bit late. I am finished. Of course, we can think about this, I watch his sparring and videos, he has to learn a lot,” he added.

“In boxing, he knows how to punch. He is not bad in the boxing game, anybody can box but wrestling is completely different.”

Paul, 25, also stated in the past that he is open to the possibility of competing in mixed martial arts someday.

In the event that he decides to do so, Nurmagomedov says he can sign the Youtube sensation to his promotion Eagle FC.

“If he wants to fight MMA because he never fought in MMA he does not have experience. We can give him the chance, we can sign him,” Nurmagomedov said.
