MPL PH gets GAB green light to hold Season 9 in person starting Week 3

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines received the go-signal from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) to hold the upcoming MPL Season 9 offline or in person starting the third week of its regular season.

MPL announced GAB's approval on Monday, citing the venue will be limited only to players, casters, and staff for safety purposes.

"During the period, strict health and safety protocols will be implemented such as having swab tests and limiting the number of personnel entering the venue. There will also be a roving safety officer to ensure everyone follows the rules. Safety and sanitation kits will be shared with all attendees and potential cases will be isolated," MPL said in a statement.

Audience members will also be prohibited in the playing venue, which was not disclosed by MPL, although fans can watch the games streamed online.

MPL Season 9 will start on February 18 and is expected to run until May 1.
