Alex Eala coasts to main draw of $25k tiff in France

Alex Eala plunged into the main draw of the W25 Joue les Tour after she hurdled the two-game qualifying draw in France.

The Filipina teen tennis sensation first made quick work of Anna Ozerova of Latvia, 6-0, 6-1, in their clash last Sunday before the Philippine bet set up clash with Fabienne Gettwart of Germany.

Against the 26-year-old Gettwart, Eala flaunted her dominance with a 6-2, 6-0, victory to formally barge into the main draw on Monday.

Eala, 16, will next square off with hometown bet Jenny Lim of France who is just a year older than the Filipina and who is also no. 1591 in WTA ranking. Eala, meanwhile, currently is at 583rd spot.

Eala had seen action in four tournaments so far this year, with her best finish coming in during the W60 Grenoble, where she reached the second round but fell to Chloe Pacquet of France.
