Masvidal vows to punch Covington's face every chance he gets at UFC 272

Mixed martial arts fan-favorite Jorge Masvidal vowed to break the face of former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington when they meet inside the cage in the main event of UFC 272 this Sunday (Manila time) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.

The pair used to be best of friends and even manned the corner for each other during their respective fights in the past. Their relationship however took a sour turn with both fighters making contradicting claims why their love eventually turned to hate.

“It is going to be him sniffing my d— the whole time like he always does in every fight,” Masvidal (35-15) said at the UFC 272 press con.

“The only way to deal with a b— like that is to end his ass. I am sending him back to casinos, gaming halls, got to knock his ass out.”

The ever-confident Covington, meanwhile, called his former buddy a journeyman anew stating that he can do whatever he pleases against the hard-hitting Masvidal once they are locked inside the cage this weekend.

“I will do whatever the f— I want to this journeyman. F—ing double-digit losses in his bum ass career. If this guy won his next 45 fights in a row he still would not have a better winning percentage than me. You are f—ing irrelevant, ungrateful coward,” said Covington (16-3).

And while their dislike for each other is real, Masvidal stated that fight night will be just business as usual.

“It's always a job. I knew a long time ago that I would be dealing with a piece of s— like him left and right so it's just business for me. Another big paycheck, that's it. The reason and the way I got here is by keeping my emotions in check,” Masvidal stressed.

“Saturday I will be doing the same thing just celebrating a little bit harder. Every chance I get I will hit him in the face.”
