Muay Thai match with John Wayne Parr will bring the best out of Eduard Folayang, says teammate Adiwang

Hard-hitting mixed martial arts strawweight Lito Adiwang of Team Lakay is confident of teammate Eduard "Landslide" Folayang’s chances against Muay Thai legend John Wayne Parr.

The former ONE lightweight world champion is scheduled to face the former multiple-time world champion Parr in a Muay Thai match at ONE: X on March 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“This is the time to prove his power because he will be going up against a legend who has several belts under his name,” said Adiwang.

“This is a great time to show our base, which is wushu striking. He will bring out the best version of Landslide.”

Folayang, 37, has not competed in an all-striking bout for more than a decade. Adjustments have to be made in the upcoming fight but Adiwang is convinced it would work out just fine.

“It’s a big adjustment for him, but I believe he will be able to overcome his opponent. After all, Team Lakay is one of the elite strikers in Asia,” he said.

“I think he will return to mixed martial arts but given a chance to fight again in Muay Thai, I think he will accept.”

Adiwang, for his part, will also compete at ONE Championship’s tenth-anniversary special against his fellow Filipino Jeremy Miado while his other teammate Stephen Loman will face Shoko Sato.
