Demetrious Johnson puts Rodtang to sleep in special rules match

SINGAPORE — Former UFC flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson came out on top in his special rules match against ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE: X this Satuday evening at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Rodtang pressed the action right from the opening bell as Johnson circled the cage in the Muay Thai round, throwing fast combinations and landing his well-timed counter right straight several times.

Then it was Johnson’s turn to stalk Rodtang the following round as the rules just changed to mixed martial arts. Rodtang rode his bike, but was taken down then put to sleep with a rear-naked choke at the 2:13 mark of round two.

The win and loss will not go on either fighter’s record.
