ONE champion Joshua Pacio on the lookout for his next title challenger
Reigning ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio will be glued to his television when two of the top contenders in his division duke it out to determine the next challenger to his title.
Former UFC fighter Jarred Brooks, currently rated as the no. 2 fighter in the division, is scheduled to face the no. 1 contender Bokang Masunyane on April 22 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The winner of the said contest will get a mandatory shot at Pacio’s gold-plated strap.
“I’ve been watching the bouts of the top five in my division, going to the gym, and doing my assignments for my possible future match,” said Pacio.
“Bokang and Brooks have this similar style. They want to control their opponents and punish them. My team and I are preparing for every scenario inside the circle. I’m giving all my effort to leveling up my wrestling and sharpening all my tools.”
The 26-year-old prizefighter from Baguio City’s Team Lakay last saw action in September in a trilogy against Yosuke Saruta where he emerged victorious via technical knockout. Eager to return to action, Pacio says he shall await the winner between Brooks and Masunyane inside the cage.
“They will fight this coming April 22nd, and I’m all excited about it. Whoever takes the victory will definitely face me.”
