Aleah Finnegan grabs balance beam silver as Philippine gymnastics team continues to haul in medals


Aleah Finnegan settled for a silver medal in the women's balance beam event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games artistic gymnastics on Monday at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Finnegan tallied 12.367 to finish second while Malaysia's Rachel Li Wen Yeoh picked up the gold with an impressive finish of 12.567.

Finnegan previously ruled the women's vault after tallying 13.133 to beat Vietnamese runners-up Thi Quynh Nhu Nguyen and Indonesian Rifda Irfanluthfi who settled for silver and bronze, respectively.

Earlier, Carlos Yulo reigned supreme in the men's vault event as well, collecting 14.700 points for a gold medal.
