Kayla Richardson triumphant in women's 100m dash to hike Philippines' medal haul
Kayla Richardson ruled the women's 100m dash event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Wednesday at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The 24-year-old athletics ace clocked in the fastest time of 11.60 seconds to come out on top of the event.
Richardson already bagged a bronze in the 200-meter event while her twin sister Kyla captured the silver last Saturday.
With her latest win, Richardson gave the Philippines its 37th gold medal.
Meanwhile, Evalyn Palabrica took home the bronze in the women's javelin throw with a score of 49.07 behind gold medalist Hoang Lo Thi of Vietnam (56.37) and silver medalist Jariya Wichaidit of Thailand (55.65).

In the women's 4x400m relay, Erica Marie Ruto and Katherine Kay Santos clocked in 03:43.260 to finish third behind Vietnam (03:37.990) and Thailand (03:42.900) in the event to claim a bronze medal.
