Vanessa Sarno sets new SEA Games records to win gold in women's weightlifting

Asian weightlifting champion Vanessa Sarno set new Southeast Asian Games records in her journey to the gold medal in the women's weightlifting 71 kg event on Saturday.

Sarno recorded her best attempt in the snatch at 104 kg and in the clean and jerk at 135 kg to get a total of 239 kg. All these marks were also new SEA Games records set by the Philippine bet.

This is the Philippines' second gold medal in weightlifting following Hidilyn Diaz who won her gold on Friday. The Philippines also has one silver from Elreen Ando and one bronze from Rosegie Ramos.
