BTK escapes SEA Games gold medalist Sibol to rule RMC tournament
United States' Team BTK pulled off a shocker and stunned the Philippines' Sibol, 3-2, to rule the 6th edition of the realme Mobile Legends Cup (RMC) Grand Finals last June 5 at the SMX Convention Center.
Led by team captain Michael "MobaZane" Cosgun, BTK first saw a slow start as the Filipinos took the opening game but the American squad got back in the following game for an equalizer, 1-1.
BTK further unleashed its prowess in the fourth game for an even 2-2 slate before they eventually showed the door to the Philippine bet Sibol, who was the gold medalist during the 31st SEA Games last month.
The much-awaited clash lived up to hype as prior to the match, both teams traded banters in social media when MobaZane challenged Sibol for a match. Sibol then responded, saying it will attend the RMC event.
Both BTK and most players of Sibol, which is bannered by Blacklist International, have met in the M3 World Championship last year. BTK edged Blacklist in their upper bracket series which forced the Filipino champions to crawl their way into the throne.
