RSG reaches MSC upper bracket finals with sweep of Orange Esports

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — RSG Philippines continued with their rampage in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) 2022 on Thursday with another sweep, this time against Malaysia's Orange Esports, 3-0, to arrange an upper bracket finals date against Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi.

The last time the MPL Philippines Season 9 champions lost in a series was in April 3 where they lost a close 2-1 against Blacklist International in the regular season. They have been on a tear since then.

RSG has so far compiled a massive 9-1 run in the MSC and will face the Indonesian champions on Saturday.

In Game 1, RSG secured their signature Franco and Beatrix picks, easily scoring early game pick offs en route to a 6-3 kill lead at the 6th minute that swelled into 13-5 lead in the kill tally by the 9th minute.

The Filipinos almost had it in the bag in the 15th minute but the Malaysians displayed nerves of steel in fending off RSG's base turret siege and successfully escaped with a sliver of health courtesy of Aimin Zairie "Minn" Bin Anuar's (Atlas) fatal links set-up and Muhammad "Garyy" Syafizan's (Helcurt) mechanical display.

But RSG quickly regrouped, scoring a 2-0 wipe in the lord fight a minute later that finally put away the MPL Malaysia Season 9 runners-up.

It was a different story in Game 2 though as EVOS SG secured Garyy's daunted Fanny pick that translated into a massive early game lead where they established a net worth cushion of as high as 9k at the 12th minute.

But Dylan "Light" Catipon (Ruby) performed a nifty I'm Offended set-up in the 12th minute that resulted in a 3-2 exchange followed by another 2-1 tradeoff in the 13th to trim the net worth deficit to just 2.5k and a luminous lord take.

The ensuing sequence was a chess match all throughout until RSG executed a superb macro move in the 25th minute, baiting their rivals in the bottom lane and taking advantage of the resulting scramble for a 3-0 wipe and the evolved lord.

Light then saved the day once again for RSG with another crucial I'm Offended set-up that kickstarted a quick 3-0 takedown and finally completed the reverse, 2-0.

RSG then played a sharp and methodic Game 3, not letting the Malaysians find their groove in a method 18-minute conquest.

Eman "EMANN" Sangco (Karrie) led the way with a perfect 8-0-5 KDA.
