Omega sweeps Falcon Esports, books MSC lower bracket finals ticket across RSG PH
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Omega Esports arranged a lower bracket finals date across RSG Philippines with a sweep of Falcon Esports, 3-0, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) 2022 on Saturday.
Omega will look to avenge their MPL Philippines Season 9 championship loss to RSG with the winner facing Indonesian champions RRQ Hoshi in the grandfinals.
Omega successfully secured Beatrix in the opener but Falcon also got their patented Natalia pick that led their early game surge, taking a 7th minute 4-1-1 KDA.
But the defending champions shrugged off the deficit and secured their power spikes in the midgame then took control when Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (Lolita) executed a three-man set-up with the Luminum Blast that sparked a 3-0 wipe and the luminous lord.
The Southeast Asian kings then had to clutch a 26th minute skirmish, displaying superb mechanical skills in tiptoeing Falcon's retaliation to score a 5-0 wipe out, 1-0.
In Game 2, Ch4knu (Khufra) once again came through in a decisive 11th minute lord fight as his set-up from the bottom flank resulted 4-0 takedown.
They did not let up as Omega reached match point with methodic movements the rest of the way finishing with a 14-5 kill cushion in 15mins.
The Philippine representatives then just waited for damage spikes in Game 3 to turn back the early game deficit and take control in the midgame after emerging on top of teamfights.
Patrick James “E2Max” Caidic (Esmeralda) led the way with a near perfect 5-1-7 KDA.
