KarlTzy leads Echo to sweep of former team Bren
Echo leaned on the exploits of prized jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno to come away with a 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports in Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Friday.
The M2 World Championship's prowess with the assassin meta came in full display as his Julian in Game 1 paved the way for a comeback while his Hayabusa in Game 2 provided the necessary initiations for Echo.
It was Echo's second win in as many matches to hike their points total to five and force a tie with league-leading Blacklist International.
Bren momentarily took the lead early in Game 1 with Rowgien Stimpson "Owgwen" Unigo (Mathilda) scoring a double kill during the 2nd minute turtle fight but KarlTzy led Echo's retaliation, taking six unanswered kills that they capped off with a 2-0 wipe off a 12th minute lord fight.
It was Echo the rest of the way with KarlTzy having his way en route to a massive 9-14 KDA in a 13-minute conquest, 1-0. Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales (Beatrix) took MVP of the match honors with a perfect 5-0-6 KDA.
Both teams engaged in a meticulous Game 2, tallying the first kill only on the 6th minute mark.
It was pretty much equal until Echo exploded for a 4-1 wipe during an 18th minute lord fight to complete the sweep.
KarlTzy (Hayabusa) finished with a stellar 5-1-5 KDA while rookie Alston "Sanji" Pabico (Faramis) played beyond his years in executing highlight reel plays while finishing with an impressive 6-2-5 KDA.
