Nate Diaz reveals not wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev
Mixed martial arts fan favorite Nate Diaz admitted that he does not want to fight Khamzat Chimaev at all.
The two are scheduled to face each other inside the octagon in the main event of UFC 279 this weekend, September 11 (PH time) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“What they got me doing right now is they are acting like I called for this fight which I did not call for, and I don’t want, and didn’t want, and still don’t want,” Diaz told ESPN in an interview.
“But I don’t give a f—, I’ll fight anybody. But the pressure is on him he better finish me because he is the next killer in town.”
Diaz, 20-13 as a professional mixed martial arts fighter, is a huge underdog against the unbeaten Chimaev.
Having won just 1 of his last 4 fights, Diaz’s upcoming fight with Chimaev is mostly seen by fans and scribes alike as a mismatch—and even Diaz seems to know it too.
“This fight is not even about this guy. It is about making this guy. It is about making this motherf—er, right? You guys aren’t going to let me go because I’m the best fighter here,” said Diaz.
“You’re not going to let me go unless it’s off of somebody? I’ve got to make somebody for you? Well, alright, you’re welcome. Let’s make you. You’re welcome, UFC.”
