RSG avenges first round defeat, sends Omega to third straight loss

RSG Philippines opened the second half of Season 10 with a bang, taking a 2-0 sweep of Omega Esports in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines on Friday.

The defending champion momentarily takes the top spot, upping their total to 15 points to leapfrog league-leading Blacklist International (14 points), who still has a match against Nextplay Evos later.

Contrary to their encounter in the first half of the season, RSG came prepared this time and lorded over the early to midgame in Game 1, taking a 15-6 kill spread going into the 18th minute evolved lord, which they took with ease.

However, Omega survived inhibitor turret invades and tried to flank RSG during the 24th minute lord fight, with Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Beatrix) and Deomark "Mikko" Tabangay (Franco) entering the fight from the backline.

But RSG displayed mechanical brilliance as they danced their way to a 4-2 exchange to take the opener.

Dylan "Light" Catipon continued with his impressive play on the Lolita pick, taking MVP honors by way of a 0-1-16 KDA.

RSG did not let up in Game 2 as they once again leaned on Light's (Khufra) heroic Tyrant's Revenge set-ups on Kelra (Bruno) in the 12th and 17th minute, leading to pick offs that the reigning MSC champions used to secure the crucial lords.

Light finished with a 1-1-10 KDA complemented by Demonkite's (Lancelot) perfect 3-0-7 KDA.
