Kelra's explosive plays tow Omega over Blacklist to snap skid
Duane "Kelra" Pillas once again proved that he is one of the best, if not the best player in the league right now, with a masterful performance against league-leading Blacklist International.
The star gold laner helped Omega Esports score a 2-1 reverse sweep and snap a three-game slide in Week 5 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.
Kelra displayed superb flexibility as his prowess with the Wanwan and Claude picks in Games 2 and 3 delivered superbly for Omega to hand Blacklist their third season loss.
He was an image of perfection in the comeback win as he did not concede any death, taking a 5-0-3 KDA on Wanwan and a 3-0-9 KDA on Claude.
After a tentative early game in the opener, Omega started to mount the pressure with Kelra (Claude) taking down Kiel "Oheb" Soriano in a 1v1 in the bottom lane that touched off a 2-1 wipe plus the outer turret to establish a 3k net worth lead.
Kelra once again delivered during a 9th minute midlane skirmish as he scored a triple kill off a timely execution of the Blazing Duet leading to a 5-2 wipeout and the lord.
Omega almost had it in the bag in the 21st minute marching onto the enemy base turret with the complete squad against two defenders but Johnmar "OhMyV33NUS" Villaluna (Faramis) unleashed her Cult Altar just in time to provide the needed sustain with Oheb weaving his way to a triple kill that turned the tables around.
In Game 2, Blacklist took the early game by scoring the more crucial pick offs and securing the objectives but Kelra (Wanwan) kept Omega afloat, taking a double kill during an 11th minute lord fight to keep their rivals at bay.
But Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui was the man of the hour as he evaded three pursuing Blacklist members during an 18th minute ambush, buying enough time for Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog (Grock) to execute a two-man Wild Charge setup that led to a 3-0 wipe.
Patrick "E2MAX" Caidic (Selena), who was struggling with his Abyssal Arrow all game long, then perfectly zoned out OhMyV33NUS (Mathilda) enabling Omega to complete a one way push against Blacklist's lone base turret defender.
Omega did not let up in the rubber match as they treaded beautifully in a 7th minute turtle fight to score a 4-0 wipe and dictate the tempo of the match.
Ch4knu (Lolita) then executed a pivotal two-man Noumenon Blast set-up that resulted in a 3-0 pickoff and the lord.
Blacklist though managed to survive deep into the late game until Kelra initiated a 17th minute engage with his Blazing Duet that his squad followed up perfectly for a 4-0 sweep that won them the series.
