In-form KarlTzy takes Echo to top spot with sweep of Omega
Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno single-handedly averted a Game 1 collapse to help Echo score their eighth win in 10 games with a commanding 2-0 sweep of Omega Esports in Week 6 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Saturday.
The M2 world championship MVP delivered an out-of-this world mechanical brilliance in a 1-on-4 base turret defense in Game 1 to save Echo from a comeback loss then continued the rampage in Game 2 to complete the sweep and catapult Echo to the top of the standings with 20pts.
During the opener. Echo had their way in the early game, taking a 7-1 kill dominance by the 4th minute along with a 2k net worth lead and was in control of the match until Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic (Selena) caught KarlTzy (Julian) with an Abyssal Arrow late in the 19th minute that quickly led to a pick off.
Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Beatrix) outplayed three Echo members in the ensuing sequence to score a double kill.
Omega marched into the enemy base turret and was one shotgun away from taking the opener but KarlTzy arrived in the nick of time, catching four enemy heroes with a Chain set-up and bursting them down all by himself for a massive reverse, 1-0.
Game 2 was no different as Echo once again took an identical 7-1 kill spread by the 4th minute with KarlTzy (Julian) leading the way owing to his 3-0-3 KDA.
Echo though did not leave any openings this time as they finished off Omega in just 10 minutes with a massive 16-5 domination in the kill tally, the three deaths coming in the final moments when they ignored enemy heroes and focusfired on the base turret.
KarlTzy finished with a monster 7-1-7 KDA in the closeout win.
