Omega bounces back with reverse sweep of TNC

Omega Esports was made to sweat by a resurgent TNC Pro Team squad before eking out a much-needed 2-1 reverse sweep in Week 6 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Sunday.

The MSC 2021 champs bounced back from a sweep at the hands of Echo on Friday to keep their hopes of an outright upper bracket berth alive with 17pts going into the last three season matches.

TNC employed an early game aggressive play in Game 1 that resulted in superior map control and not letting Dean Christian “Raizen” Sumagui's Fanny get to the blue buff easily.

Omega made their move by taking three unanswered kills plus a 6th minute turtle but TNC responded with a 4-2 tradeoff during a 10th minute lord fight to wrestle control of the match.

Mark “Kramm” Rustana (Paquito) delivered the most cruicial play though as he ambushed Duane “Kelra” Pillas (Clint) front the backline during the 19th minute that caught Omega flatfooted and defenseless for the opening win, 1-0.

Uncharacteristically for Omega, they opted for a low-kill affair in Game 2 but still manage to score the equalizer courtesy of Deomark “Mikko” Tabangay's (Ruby) pinpoint I'm Offended set-ups.

They used a 10th minute lord to take down all inhibitor turrets and managed the minion waves to take down the base turret with a low 8-5 kill tally, with four kills scored in the final minute.

Omega was staring at an 8-3 kill deficit late in Game 3 before they clutched a 21st minute lord fight to mount the pressure on TNC.

Kiel "KielVJ" Hernandez (Lylia) then scored a delayed triple kill in the next minute that gave Omega enough leeway to finish off TNC.

The Season 9 third placer are in danger of elimination with a woeful 1-10 card (9pts). Another loss via sweep in Week 7 will drop them out of playoff contention.
