Omega keeps hope of upper bracket berth alive with reverse sweep of Nexplay

Omega Esports remains in contest for the automatic upper bracket slots in the playoffs with a 2-1 reverse sweep of Nexplay Evos in the penultimate week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Friday.

It was their seventh season win, increasing their points total to 19 going into their last two season matches. Blacklist International currently leads the league with 22 points followed by Onic Philippines (21 points) and Echo (20 points).

In Game 1, NXPE shrugged off an early game 4-2 kill deficit and racked up five unanswered kills culminating in a pivotal midlane 13th minute clash. They scored a 2-0 wipe courtesy of Jeniel "YellyHaze" Bata-anon's (Faramis) massive Cult Altar play that also helped them secure the luminous lord.

It was all NXPE from there as they never let Omega find their groove en route to a 15th minute conquest.

Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcase (Masha), who has been playing solid as of late after returning to his old exp lane role, led the way with a 5-1-2 KDA.

It was a relatively silent Game 2 with only five total kills scored in the first seven minutes but Omega started to take control of the match after securing the 12th minute lord that swept all but one NXPE inhibitor turrets.

Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog (Grock) then piloted a conceal play with Duane "Kelra" Pillas (Wanwan) in the 16th minute to ambush Mariusz "Donut" Tan (Irithel), successfully catching the enemy with a flicker + Wild Charge play that crumbled NXPE's positioning for the equalizer.

Omega completely dominated Game 2 from the middle goings, finishing with a runaway 14-3 kill dominance, not conceding a single death since the 9th minute in a 16-minute encounter.

Game 3 boiled down to a lengthy 16th minute lord fight where Omega emerge unscathed with taking down four NXPE heroes, enabling them to execute a one-way bottom lane push to take the series.

Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui (Ling) played perfect in the closeout game as he finished with a 5-0-2 KDA.

Ch4knu (Grock) provided the highlight reels as he once again delivered a superb Wild Charge set-up play in the crucial skirmish en route to an immaculate 1-0-7 KDA.
