Bren keeps upper bracket dreams alive with sweep of Omega
Bren Esports kept their hopes of a top-two regular season finish alive after they scored their 8th season win via a 2-0 sweep of Omega Esports in the final week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Friday.
The win upped their points total to 21pts (8-5) and allowed them to tie Onic Philippines (7-6) in 4th place with one more match left this season.
Game 1 was a nip-and-tuck affair until Marco “SUPER MARCO” Requitano (Melissa) and Michael Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson (Paquito) scored a kill each during an 11-minute team fight to secure the first lord of the match that led to a 7k net worth lead right away.
Bren then forced a 2-1 exchange early in the 17th minute, taking down Duane “Kelra” Pillas (Clint) and Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog (Grock) followed by a two-man Fatal Links set-up by Rowgien Stimpson “Owgwen” Unigo (Atlas) moments later to take the opener, 1-0.
The M2 world champions did not let up in Game 2 as they easily imposed themselves in the early game, taking a 5-2 kill spread to establish a 2k economy lead late in the 7th minute. .
They followed this up with a masterful team fight execution during a 10-minute lord fight resulting in a 2-1 trade off plus the lord.
Omega just didn't have the answer from there as they succumbed to a 12-minute loss with Bren boasting a commanding 15-4 dominance in the kill tally.
