Rookies 1rrad, Perkz propel RSG to 3rd seed in the playoffs with sweep of Nexplay

RSG Philippines decided to field two rookies in their final season match and the change was hardly felt as they easily swept Nexplay EVOS, 2-0, to secure the third spot entering the playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 on Monday.

RSG concluded their regular season campaign with 25 points, to leapfrog Bren Esports (23 points) for the crucial third spot in the postseason, where they get the benefit of choosing their opponent between the 5th and 6th seeds in their do-or-die encounter on October 20.

NXPE played with rejuvenated tenacity in the opener grabbing a 3-2 kill lead in the early game but Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo's (Uranus) aggression in the 7th minute led to a 3-0 pick off, giving RSG control.

RSG did not give NXPE any opening and scored four answered kills to secure the 13th minute luminous lord and take the opener.

NXPE failed to register any kills since the 5th minute as RSG mounted the pressure en route to a 12-3 kill dominance.

Debuting rookie John "1rrad" Tuazon (Karina) took over in Game 2, scoring a 4-0-3 KDA by the 6th minute to lead RSG's 10-2 kill spread and a 5k net worth lead.

Fellow rookie John "Perkz" Sumawan (Grock) joined the fray as he executed multiple nifty set-up plays, including a surprising flicker + Wild Charge set-up in the 7th minute that picked off Jeniel "YellyHaze" Bata-anon (Faramis) and took down the middle outer turret.

He finished with a 2-2-8 KDA in the win while 1rrad supplemented with a perfect 5-0-8 KDA.
