Kevin Belingon looks to redeem himself vs. Kim Jae Woong in Singapore
Former ONE bantamweight world champion Kevin Belingon is looking to end his losing skid when he takes on Kim Jae Woong at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 19 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Belingon, 20-9 as a professional mixed martial artist, had lost his past four outings and was unable to muster a win since 2018. The Team Lakay representative plans to end his heartbreak against Kim on fight night while expressing his desire to fight for a world title again in the future.
"If you call this a curse then I have an antidote this time. I'm very motivated and excited to win this match and bring back my winning streak, and fight for the world title once again in the future," said Belingon.
"Winning this match is very important to me. This is for my redemption and it will put me back on top. I need this."
Kim, who brandishes "The Fighting God" moniker, is known for his explosive power. He holds a win over former two-division champion Martin Nguyen and would enjoy a significant size advantage over the Filipino. Belingon, however, is unfazed.
"I fought taller guys before so height doesn't pose a problem for me. I just have to focus on executing my game plan and win the match," Belingon said.
"We are warriors, we are athletes, a fight is a fight. Everything is going better and better. I'm more than 100% ready and primed for this fight."
