Defending champion Lyceum, Letran dispute CCE Season 2 crown

Lyceum of the Philippines University and Colegio de San Juan de Letran will slug it out in a best-of-five showdown when the two teams collide in the championship round of the Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE) Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Season 2 this Saturday at the SM MOA Music Hall.

The Pirates and the Knights finished the elimination round tied at number one, featuring similar 8-1 cards, but took different paths en route to the finals.

Letran took care of its upper bracket opponent in Arellano University, 2-1, while Lyceum swept Jose Rizal University with a dominant 2-0 victory. But as they faced off in the next round, Letran emerged victorious with a 2-1 win, sending Lyceum down to the lower bracket.

After a small hiccup, the Pirates made sure to make its way back to the finals after eking out a 2-0 sweep of JRU in their best-of-three lower bracket finals clash.

Against JRU, Mark Kenneth “Mark” Delos Reyes (Martis) led Lyceum with six kills and 10 assists against three deaths to get the MVP citation in Game 2 while showing the way in Game 1 was Remarch “Lust” Eusebio (Brody) with a perfect 3-0-2 KDA line.

The Knights, meanwhile, got solid outings from Kurl Patrick “Xeero” Pugao who had 2/1/7 in Game 2 before posting a 12/2/9 line in Game 3 including the crucial Lord take in the 23-minute mark and the big hammering kill on Delos Reyes’ Gusion that served as the dagger in the Pirates’ heart.
