'Emotionless' Joshua Pacio unaffected by Jarred Brooks' smack talk
Reigning ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio said he is "emotionless" ahead of his upcoming title defense against number one contender Jarred Brooks in the main event of ONE 164 on December 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Pacio, 20-3 as a professional mixed martial artist, has been on the receiving end of Brooks smack talk ahead of their highly-anticipated showdown. The Team Lakay star, however, guaranteed that none of it is getting into his head.
"This confidence comes from my experience. Coming up to this fight I should be emotionless. I know what Jarred is doing. I should be emotionless coming up to this fight," Pacio said during a face off interview on Sparring Sessions LIVE.
The former UFC fighter has been on a tear since he signed with ONE Championship, having won all three of his fights with the promotion en route to getting a shot at Pacio's gold-plated strap.
Brooks strongly believes that Pacio is afraid of him, a notion that the Filipino strongly denied.
"I am a fighter, I was born to fight. That is why I am a champion. Who says I am afraid?" Pacio said with a smile.
