Echo thrashes Onic, arranges all-Filipino M4 upper bracket finals showdown vs. Blacklist

JAKARTA — Another Philippine team frustrated Indonesia as Echo dealt Onic Esports a 3-1 loss in their Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship upper bracket semifinals clash on Thursday at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia

With the thrilling victory, Echo advanced to the upper bracket finals and arranged a duel with defending champion Blacklist International while sending Onic to the lower bracket where it will face The Valley.

Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya was neutralized Onic's attacks with his Joy as the Philippine team raced to a 1-0 series lead. The 17-year-old EXP laner unleashed four kills and 10 assists while absorbing four kills to claim the MVP honors.

But Filipino import Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol shrugged off a slow start come Game 2, dominating the game with his masterful maneuvering of Hayabusa as the MPL Indonesia Season 10 champions leveled the series to one game apiece.

With Kairi taking advantage of Hayabusa's mobility, the veteran jungler outplayed Echo during the last clash in the 20th minute.

Echo, however, opted to ban Hayabusa in Game Three and that decision worked wonders for the Filipinos as they massively dominated Onic with Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera's signature hero Chou showing the way.

Echo finished off Onic in just 11 minutes and 41 seconds as Onic wasn't able to secure any objective. The Orcas also mounted a 10K gold lead as Yawi was hailed the MVP with a 2-2-14 KDA to steer Onic to the match point.

Echo made sure there won't be a decider, finishing Game 4 after 21 minutes.
