Zico, Hesa bid Burn X Flash goodbye after M4 World Championship stint

JAKARTA — Filipino coach John Michael "Zico" Dizon and import Jhonwin "Hesa" Vergara have decided to leave Burn X Flash just days after ending their stint in the ongoing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M4 World Championship.

In a separate Facebook posts, Zico and Hesa said they are parting ways with the Cambodian team, which they helped steer to the MPL Cambodia Autumn 2022 title and a world stage appearance.

"Leaving my homeland was the biggest leap of faith that I have made 7 months ago. Pursuing my passion for Esports in a foreign land was a challenging yet fulfilling experience," Zico said on Friday night.

"And I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions that I've made in my coaching career; I have one MPL Championship title under my belt."

Zico, a former MPL Philippines player and tactician, decided to ply his trades abroad in June 2022. And as he puts an end to it, Zico said "the journey to professional and personal growth never ends... and so, on to the next."

Meanwhile, Hesa said he is taking a break from the MLBB scene, but said it's not the end for him.

"Moving from MPL PH to MPL KH has been such an amazing opportunity and a wild journey. I appreciate all of the Cambodians who were friendly & welcoming," Hesa said.

"I decided to take a break but don't worry, my journey doesn't end here. I will come back stronger, BURN Hesa signing off."

Burn X Flash ended its M4 campaign with a winless campaign, going 0-3 in the group stage before falling to The Valley in the playoffs to formally exit the tournament.
