Jhanlo Sangiao earns another $50k bonus with quick submission over Farinelli

Mixed martial arts bantamweight prospect Jhanlo Sangiao is coming home with a pocket full of cash following his first-round submission over Matias Farinelli at ONE Fight Night 9 this Saturday morning at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Jhanlo, son of Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao, unleashed several strikes before the fight got to the canvas. While on the mat, Sangiao came up with a kneebar that forced Farinelli to tap in pain at the 0:58 second mark in round one.

“That was not in the game plan. I was supposed to strike with him but he got my back. I rolled, got his foot, got his knees, pulled it, and cracked. I just want to keep playing (fighting),” Sangiao said after the fight.

The impressive victory improved Sangiao’s perfect record to 6-0, taking home his second straight $50,000 performance bonus or around 2.79 million pesos.
