Donut proud to be part of history as Burn x Flash secures MSC semis spot

PHNOM PENH— Filipino import Mariusz "Donut" Tan expressed his pride as Burn x Flash cemented its legacy after emerging as the first Cambodian team to ever reach the Final Four stage in any international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.

Burn x Flash on Thursday booted out RSG Singapore to punch their ticket to the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup (MSC) 2023 semifinals. Prior to them, no other Cambodia bets have done a similar feat.

Donut savored the moment as he was an integral part of that achievement.

"Siyempre masaya kasi first time makarating sa ganitong level [ng Cambodia] and nakaka-proud kasi we've made this far and nakaka-proud talaga sa sarili," Donut said.

("Of course, I'm happy because it's the first time that Cambodia was able to reach this level in a competition and I'm proud that we've made it this far.")

Donut also shared his excitement to meet MLBB powerhouse Blacklist International anew as the two teams will slug it out in a best-of-five semis affair for the right to enter the championship stage on Saturday.

The last time Donut faced the Codebreakers was when he was still part of Nexplay EVOS in MPL Philippines Seasons 9 and 10.

The 20-year-old gold laner, however, said his mindset when they take on Blacklist will be the same, especially that they are playing in front of the home crowd.

"Gano'n pa rin kung paano ako maglaro. Same lang 'yung mindset [which is] manalo."

("It's the same play and same mindset which is to win.")
