M5 World Championship to feature wildcard format

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will expand its slot allocation for the much-awaited M5 World Championship as Moonton Games is set to introduce a wildcard format in addition to the group and knockout stages of the global contest.

Prior to the world championship to be held in December here in the Philippines, the wild card will first kick off in November which will feature eight other regions outside of those countries with direct qualifications.

Malaysia, Mekong, Latin America, South Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), and Mongolia were the first countries/regions announced to be in the wild card while the two remaining regions will be announced at a later date.

Moonton has already expanded the recently-concluded MSC 2023 in Cambodia with the addition of non-SEA teams from North America, Turkey, and MENA (Middle East and North Africa).

The Philippines is the reigning three-time world champion in ML:BB with Bren Esports ruling M2 while Blacklist International and Echo dominated M3 and M4.
