Eduard Folayang's Lions Nation MMA willing to fight members of Team Lakay

Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang is open to having the fighters of his newly-established team Lions Nation MMA fight some of the members of his old stable Team Lakay.

Folayang, together with former world champions Honorio Banario, Kevin Belingon, and Joshua Pacio, announced their departure from Team Lakay last March. Three months later, Jeremy Pacatiw and Edward Kelly also left to join Lions Nation MMA.

"It is a sport, sometimes it cannot be avoided. It is a different team now in a different setting. We always respect the rules of fighting. It cannot be avoided and we are always happy to accept challenges," Folayang said.

It can be remembered that Team Lakay fighters have always shrugged off the thought of fighting one of their teammates. This time, however, former ONE featherweight world champion Honorio Banario feels that a fight with his old team cannot be avoided.

"It cannot be avoided when there is someone in my division from my former team. I sign the contract and fight because that is my job in the first place. Yeah, I am open to any challenge. We are just fighting, nothing personal," Banario said.
