Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Janry Ubas continued to improve his performance as he topped the men's long jump event of the Motonet Grand Prix Lappeenranta in Finland on early Thursday.

Ubas claimed the gold medal after a 7.86 meter-jump while home bet Kasperi Vehmaa of Finland settled for silver with his jump of 7.75 meters. Australia's Zane Branco copped the bronze after a 7.70m finish.

Ubas was coming off his stint at the Asian Athletics Championship in Thailand, where he placed seventh in the same event with a 7.98m outing.

The 29-year-old athletics ace also reigned supreme in the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia last May to deliver his first-ever golden finish at the biennial meet since joining the national team in 2015.
