Bren locks up MPL Season 13 top seed, Blacklist completes playoff cast

AP.Bren secured the top seed of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 13 playoffs, where the powerhouse club will have a chance to further cement its legacy.

The defending MPL and world champions ended their elimination round campaign on a high note, sweeping the upset-seeking Onic Philippines before gutting out a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Echo.

Bren will head to the playoffs as the top squad with an 11-3 win-loss slate while Echo and Onic trailed them from the second and third spots, respectively, followed by RSG and Minana EVOS.

Blacklist, the former three-time MPL titlist, completed the postseason cast after denying Echo last Saturday, 2-1, and pulling off a similar 2-1 reverse sweep against RSG to catch the last bus heading to the playoff round.

The playoffs will kick off on May 22 with Blacklist and Minana fighting for their dear lives as they collide in a best-of-five do-or-die series at 4 p.m. at the SM Southmall in Las Piñas.

The winner of that match will then take on Onic in another knockout game with the victor advancing to the upper bracket against no less than Bren on May 23 as Echo and RSG occupy the other bracket.

The finalists of the season will also get to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Mid-Season Cup (MSC) in July.
