Alex Eala falls short vs Argentinian foe, misses French Open main draw

Alex Eala fell short against Julia Riera of Argentina, 4-6, 7(7)-6(3), 6-4, in the third round of the French Open qualifying draw on Thursday.

With the loss, the Filipino tennis ace missed the main draw of Roland-Garros.

Eala, who celebrated her 19th birthday on Thursday, came from back-to-back wins as she defeated Ye-Xin Ma and Taylah Preston in the first two rounds of the qualifying draw.

Eala last made the quarterfinals in the W50 Trnava tournament in Slovak Republic.
