Nesthy Petecio, Karl and Elaiza Yulo, Kieffer Alas among recognized athletes in Siklab Youth Sports Awards 

Olympic medalist Nesthy Petecio, gymnasts and siblings Karl and Elaiza Yulo, and basketball player Kieffer Alas were among those recognized in the Siklab Youth Sports Awards held on Thursday at Market! Market! in Taguig.

Petecio, who claimed silver in the Tokyo Olympics and bronze in the Paris Olympics, was named as a Sports Idol "for inspiring young Filipino athletes to become future sports heroes."

Gymnast Karl Eldrew and Gilas Pilipinas Youth player Alas were among the Youth Heroes awardees, while Elaiza is among the Super Kids awardees.

Eldrew recently won four gold medals in the 3rd JRC Artistic Gymnastics Stars Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, while Elaiza has also been making her own name in gymnastics. Eldrew and Elaiza will also be mentored by their brother Carlos Yulo's former coach Munehiro Kugimiya.

The PSC POC Media Group, composed of writers covering the PSC and POC beat, organized the said event.
