EJ Obiena praises Alex Eala on her first WTA 125 title

From one pride of the Philippines to another, Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena praised tennis ace Alex Eala after she won her first WTA 125 title.

Eala on Sunday defeated Hungary’s Panna Udvardy, 1-6, 7-5, 6-3, in the finals of the Guadalajara 125 Open to claim her first WTA 125 trophy.

On Instagram, Obiena reposted the tournament’s photo of Eala with the caption, “Winning titles looks good on you.”

Eala is expected to fly to Brazil next for the SP Open.

Obiena, the world No. 5 in pole vault and Asia’s record holder, will compete in the World Athletics Championships this month. He also headlines the nine-man list of pole vaulters set to compete in the World Pole Vault Challenge in the Philippines.
