Hayden Ancheta, Andre Dargani rule national wrestling meet

Hayden Ancheta and Andre Dargani of San Francisco State RTC dominated the Wrestling Association of the Philippines National and Youth Championships last week in Tagaytay City.

Ancheta defeated Morphy Modne of the Ifugao Wrestling Team in the 57kg finals, finishing his campaign with a perfect 6-0 record.

Dargani, meanwhile, secured the gold in the 74kg division after beating Andrei Morgan of Mandaluyong, capping the tournament with a 4-0 sweep.

Gabe Dinnete also completed a 6-0 sweep across the 86kg and 82kg classes, overcoming Neonards Cervantes in the 86kg finals and Andrew Bercasio in the 82kg finals.

In the women’s division, Aliah Rose Galvez won the seniors’ 53kg gold, while Miriam Grace Balisme claimed gold in the U23 62kg division and silver in the U20 68kg division.
