Danny Kingad set for comeback against Hu Yong at ONE Fight Night 40

Danny Kingad set for comeback against Hu Yong at ONE Fight Night 40

Filipino veteran fighter Danny Kingad will look to kickstart another run at the title as he returns to action at ONE Fight Night 40 on February 14, 2026, at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Currently third in ONE Championship’s flyweight rankings, Kingad is set to face China’s Hu Yong in a three-round flyweight bout that could reshape the division’s pecking order.

“I’m extremely fired up to be back inside the Circle this February 14. This fight means a lot to me because it’s an important step toward my goal,” Kingad said.

Kingad is coming off consecutive setbacks against championship-caliber opposition. He suffered a unanimous decision loss to reigning flyweight king Yuya Wakamatsu before being submitted by former titleholder Adriano Moraes.

Despite sitting out the entire 2025 calendar year, the Igorot warrior said the time away has only fueled his hunger for a resurgence.

“I’ve been training with intensity, focus, and purpose, and I’m ready to show a sharper, stronger, and more dangerous version of Danny Kingad,” he added.

Hu, meanwhile, enters the contest eager to halt his own slide. The Chinese flyweight has dropped his last two bouts but remains a tricky and aggressive striker capable of testing anyone in the division.
