Alex Eala listed in 2026 Miami Open player field

Alexandra “Alex” Eala is expected to return to the Miami Open this year.

The tournament on Wednesday released the player field for the WTA 1000 event on its website, with Eala included among the 74 entrants.

Included also in the player field are top players such as Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Coco Gauff, and Jessica Pegula.

Last year’s Miami Open marked a historic breakthrough for Eala, as she defeated Grand Slam champions Jelena Ostapenko, Madison Keys, and Swiatek en route to a semifinal finish before bowing to Pegula.

That impressive run propelled Eala into the WTA Top 100 and ignited a milestone season.

Eala is currently in the United Arab Emirates competing in the Dubai Open, where she is scheduled to face Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals.

She is then expected to begin her Sunshine Swing campaign at the Indian Wells Open starting March 4.
