MLBB: Team Liquid taps Indonesian star Aeronnshikii, Singaporean coach for MPL Season 17
Team Liquid became the second team in MPL Philippines history to sign an import, landing Indonesian Sultan "Aeronnshikii" Muhammad for its title defense bid in Season 17 next month.
The Cavalry formally introduced the young gold laner on Wednesday after the club announced Kiel "Oheb" Soriano's relegation to its inactive roster.
"I feel like I'm very happy and chill. I don't know why I'm very chill. I think we're so close to each other. We can win, of course," Aeronnshikii said to members of the press last week.
"I don't see my teammates as the GOATs. I see them as my friends."
Aeronnshikii, who was part of Team Liquid Indonesia's M6 World Championship squad that reached the finals against Onic PH, emerged as the second foreign player to join MPL Philippines after Clayton "Savero" Kuswanto joined Onic yesterday.
Aeronnshikii will reinforce the reigning two-time champions alongside a star-studded cast of jungler Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, exp laner Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya, midlaner Alston "Sanji" Pabico, and Jaypee "Jaypee" Dela Cruz.
Aside from Aeronnshikii, Team Liquid has also tapped a foreign coach in Ong Wei “Aeon” Sheng of Singapore as the team parted ways with Rodel "Ar Sy" Cruz.
This marks a new era for Team Liquid as the Cavalry look to redeem themselves following an early exit from the M7 World Championship that derailed their bid for a rare 'Golden Road' feat.
"I think they are very professional and there's no need for extra push because I think they themselves are very competitive. I think it's just about the mutual respect and I respect what they have achieved," Aeon said.
Aeon is determined to finish what Team Liquid started, confidently declaring the team’s ultimate objective: "Two words: golden road".
