Alex Eala dazzles as Sabalenka, Alcaraz, Norris honored at Laureus Sports Awards in Spain
Alex Eala bannered the Philippines anew, this time on the red carpet, as the Filipina tennis star attended the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday (Manila time).
The 20-year-old Pinay wore a soft cream Filipiniana dress the event, which also featured several sports icons like WTA No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Spanish tennis standout Carlos Alcaraz.

The Laureus World Sports Awards is a renowned ceremony that annually honors individuals and teams across different sports worldwide.
This year, Alcaraz was hailed as the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year, beating fellow tennis star Jannik Sinner, football's Ousmane Dembele, world No. 1 pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, motorcycling's Marc Marquez, and cycling's Tadej Pogacar.
Sabalenka, meanwhile, captured the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year after edging out football's Aitana Bonmati, swimming's Katie Ledecky, and the athletics trio of Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Faith Kipyegon, and Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone.
Football club Paris Saint-Germain, which won six major titles last year, was named the Laureus World Team of the Year while Lando Norris of McLaren was recognized as the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year. The 26-year-old F1 driver beat NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Desire Doue, Joao Fonseca, Luke Littler, and Zidi Yu.
Multi-titled golf veteran Rory Mcilroy, meanwhile, bagged the Laureus World Comeback of the Year while Gabriel Araujo claimed the Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a disability.
Snowboarder Chloe Kim seized the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year while Futbol Mas was given the Laureus Sport for Good Award.
Eala is scheduled to see action at the Madrid Open set from April 21 to May 3 before she competes at the Rome Open and Parma Ladies Open. But her biggest clay-court event would be at the French Open in late May.
