Alex Eala begins her Madrid Open doubles run with Zeynep Sonmez

Alexandra “Alex” Eala will kick off her doubles campaign at the Madrid Open with Turkey’s Zeynep Sonmez on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. (Philippine time).

Sonmez, 23, is currently ranked No. 67 in singles.

The pair will take on Chinese Taipei’s Chan Hao-Ching and Hungary’s Fanny Stollar in the Round of 32.

Chan is ranked No. 38 in doubles, while Stollar sits at No. 27, although both players are currently unranked in singles.

Eala enters the doubles event fresh off a 6-3, 6-3 win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the Round of 128 of the singles draw.
