Filipina sprinter Jessica Laurance cops bronze in Asian Beach Games

The Philippines secured another medal courtesy of sprinter Jessica Rose Laurance, who captured a bronze medal in the women's 60m event at the 2026 Asian Beach Games on Saturday in Sanya, China. 

Laurance clocked 7.52 seconds to finish third, delivering the country's second bronze and sixth overall medal from the tournament as of writing.

Thailand's Jirapat Khanonta seized the gold medal by clocking 7.46 seconds white Jialu Xu of host China settled for silver after registering 7.49 seconds. 

Before taking home the bronze, Laurance topped Heat 2 with a 7.50-second finish to qualify for the finals. 

Another Filipina sprinter saw action after Lianne Diana Pama competed in Heat 1, but she fell short after finishing third with a time of 7.775 seconds.
