PH's Emmanuel Montemayor tops Tour of Luzon Stage 3 as Nikita Shulchenko leads individual general classification

Go for Gold Philippines’ Emmanuel Dave Montemayor ruled Stage 3 of the Tour of Luzon on Friday.

The 145.4-kilometer stage stretched from New Clark City in Tarlac to Palayan City in Nueva Ecija.

Montemayor clocked 3:23:09 to claim the stage win, with teammate Marc Ryan Lago finishing second, and Sumiso Basalan of Excellent Noodles taking third to complete the all-Filipino podium.

Despite Montemayor’s stage victory, Russian rider Nikita Shulchenko of LCW UAECycle remains the overall leader, posting a total time of 6:59:38 after three stages. He is followed by teammate Yousef Alrefai of Syria, while Montemayor sits third in the general classification.

Stage 4 will be held on Saturday, covering 165.8 kilometers from Palayan City in Nueva Ecija to Bayombong in Nueva Vizcaya.
