Who is Priscilla Hon? Top seed Alex Eala's Round of 32 foe at Birmingham Open
Alex Eala will share the court with Australia's Priscilla Hon again after two years as they battle it out in the Round of 32 of the WTA125 Birmingham Open on Tuesday.
Eala, the tournament's top-seeded player, will face the unseeded Hon as the Filipina tennis star officially begins her grass-court swing following an underwhelming run on clay.

She will face Hon in the opening round, which will serve as their third overall meeting in the WTA tour. Eala defeated Hon in the 2023 Roehampton 2 quarterfinals before Hon avenged that loss during their qualifying round encounter in the Ningbo Open in China in 2024.
On paper, Eala holds the edge, entering the tournament ranked No. 37 in the world, while Hon sits at No. 143 and had a career-high ranking of no. 94.
The 28-year-old Hon is still chasing her first WTA singles title, but she has been a regular presence at Grand Slam tournaments, highlighted by a run to the Round of 32 of the 2025 US Open.
The upcoming match also marks Hon's first grass tournament of the year.
