Alex Eala gets rematch with Iva Jovic in HSBC Championships Round of 16

Alexandra “Alex” Eala will face a familiar foe in the Round of 16 of the HSBC Championships on Wednesday as she takes on Iva Jovic once again.

Eala and Jovic recently met in the first round of the French Open, where the American emerged victorious, 6-4, 6-2.

The Filipina is coming off a dominant 6-3, 6-2 win over Zhang Shuai in the opening round of the WTA 500 grass-court event on Tuesday.

Eala enters the match with momentum after capturing her first WTA 125 title at the Birmingham Open on Sunday, marking her maiden championship on grass.
