Alex Eala faces Maya Joint in Wimbledon second round, then opens doubles campaign

Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set for a busy Thursday at Wimbledon, with matches in both the singles and doubles draws.

At around 7:40 p.m. Philippine time, or after the match between Alex de Minaur and Adrian Mannarino, Eala will take on Maya Joint in the second round of the women's singles tournament.

It will be their second meeting on tour after they battled in the Eastbourne Open final last year, with Eala looking to avenge her loss to the 20-year-old Australian.

Eala advanced to the second round after a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory over Renata Zarazua in her opening match.

After getting enough rest, Eala will begin her doubles campaign alongside Nikola Bartunkova in the final match scheduled on Court 6.

Eala and Bartunkova will face the tandem of Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko and Sofia Kenin following the doubles match between Roman Andres Burruchaga and Thiago Tirante against Raphael Collignon and Dino Prizmic.
