Alex Eala set to compete in DC Open, Singapore Open

Despite her ongoing Wimbledon campaign, Alexandra “Alex” Eala has already been confirmed for several upcoming tournaments on the WTA Tour.

Eala is set to compete in the DC Open, a WTA 500 hard-court event scheduled from July 27 to Aug. 2.

She joins a strong field that includes Naomi Osaka, Venus Williams, Marta Kostyuk, and Leylah Fernandez.

Eala is also expected to play in the Singapore Open later this year after the tournament was elevated to WTA 500 status.

The event will mark her return to Singapore, where she previously competed as a junior.

"Singapore has a really special place in my heart and I still remember competing there at the WTA Future Stars as a junior player. I have always enjoyed playing in Singapore because it's so close to home and it's great to have a WTA 500 event in Southeast Asia! I'm looking forward to enjoying a great week at the Singapore Tennis Open," Eala said in a statement released by the Singapore Open.

The Singapore Open is scheduled from Sept. 21 to 27.
